CYCLING  POLICY
Resolution No. LXXXII/570/2023 of Żywiec City Council, adopted on 30th of November, 2023, introduced the "Cycling Policy for Żywiec City until 2030." What does it exactly mean?

Our main goal is to promote and develop cycling transportation. We understand how crucial it is for the citizens of Żywiec, as well as the tourists who visit our town. In Żywiec, where greenery and nature are natural elements of the landscape, traveling and moving around by bike is more enjoyable, easier, and pleasant.

What will we change, and what are we already changing? First and foremost, the key principles outlined in our resolution involve the construction and modernization of cycling infrastructure, such as bike paths, bike parking, and repair stations. All of this is already happening — we're talking about the pedestrian-bicycle bridge over the Soła River and pedestrian-bike paths.

The adopted document also indicates that this initiative is part of broader actions by the city of Żywiec. Its purpose is to promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life for residents. We have also paid attention to issues such as the reduction of emissions and noise, which will undoubtedly contribute to improving air quality.

The bicycle policy will also effectively support Żywiec's economic development. All these actions primarily offer new opportunities for local businesses and the broader tourism sector. We understand their importance, which is why we are making every effort to fully implement them. Additionally, investments in cycling infrastructure aim to enhance the city's attractiveness as a welcoming place for both residents and tourists. We are delighted that the changes are happening at such a rapid pace, and we can implement them for the benefit of the city and its residents.
